Hi Travis,
I found this comment from your profile to be quite interesting: My goal is to help each patient heal deep wounds and belief systems that are the underlying cause of physical and emotional disease. The outcome is deep and permanent.
I have more than a passing interest in belief systems or memeplexes as I call them and the emotional consequences of these can certainly influence our health and behavior. I was recently reading in New Scientist magazine that there is new studies showing that the power of placebos is much greater than anyone ever expected.
Relative to your comments then, how do you help people change their belief systems and heal their wounds? Perhaps we can share some information with each other on this and other topics.
Kind Regards,
David

About Me:
From the National College of Naturopathic Medicine, I received some of the best naturopathic doctoral training in the world. I had hundreds of hours of clinical training and was selected for the prestigious Family Medicine Residency Program upon graduation.
During my residency, I participated in the OHSU Integrative Medicine Program as part of a team consisting of a chiropractor, a medical doctor, and an acupuncturist that collaborated to solve medical problems. I also received extensive training in classical homeopathy. Needless to say, I was excited by all the healing tools that I had in my toolbox.
Despite this background, I was frustrated in private practice by the difficulties I was having in helping patients overcome complex, chronic diseases. I found that the prevailing medical model, even when viewed from a "natural" perspective, was inadequate for dealing with the miraculous complexity that is the human body.
Ultimately, this frustration powered a dramatic evolution of my practice over the next three years. I am now able to help identify the deep root causes of each patient's symptoms and help them heal in a way that is not possible with supplements or medications.
Other sources of joy in my life are my wife and two children, long days working in the yard, and taking walks in the woods with our dogs.
